Youth Gathering

Isn’t compassion for wimps? Don’t you have to be ruthless to succeed in life? Does caring for others really make you less stressed? Is everyone capable of feeling empathy? How do gang members become peacemakers?
Almost 300 secondary school students from twelve schools gathered at the London Southbank Centre on Thursday 22 November to interact with internationally-renowned scientists, thinkers and change makers on the topic of empathy and compassion in contemporary society.
Videos of the event are now available.
